Gruenberg Ships One Explosion Resistant, Friction Heated Cabinet Oven to the Defense Industry
Thermal Product Solutions, a global manufacturer of thermal-processing equipment, announced the shipment of a Gruenberg Explosion Resistant, Friction Heated Cabinet Oven to the Defense industry. The oven will be used to dry molding powders.
The operating temperature of this oven is 65ºC while the maximum temperature is 82ºC. The chamber’s interior dimensions are 25” W x 25” D x 25” H, and it is made from stainless steel 304 L. The oven has 4” thick, mineral wool insulated walls to minimize heat loss. The construction of the chamber uses a structural steel frame with interconnecting struts that are non-continuous from inner to outer walls, thus keeping the exterior cool.
The oven meets explosion resistant requirements that are rated for operation in an XP Class I Div. I Group D and Class II Div. I Groups E, F, & G Environment. The interior of the oven is designed to be intrinsically safe with spark-resistant blowers which minimizes the risk of any ignition sources.
“To ensure uniform heat distribution through the oven, we installed a high volume and efficient 500 CFM horizontal airflow system. The friction fan and recirculation blowers are designed to be non-sparking in order to prevent them from igniting any flammable solvents that may be in the oven.”
