Gruenberg Ships Truck-In Vivarium Sterilizer to University Research Center
Gruenberg, a leading industrial oven and sterilizer manufacturer, announced the shipment and international installation of a truck-in style Steri-Dry™ vivarium sterilizer to a university. The dry heat sterilizer will be used for the sterilization of mouse, rat, and other rodent cages. A factory cage sterility verification was performed on the unit prior to shipment.
The sterilizer features a maximum temperature rating of 400° F and an interior consisting of two independent chambers with dimensions of 42” W x 92” D x 80” H. The continuously welded stainless-steel liners prevent any contaminants from entering the chambers, while the high-volume PRECISIONFLO horizontal airflow system ensures uniform heat distribution throughout the chamber.
The sterilizer utilizes a split line construction for ease of installation and move-in. The modular design, featuring eight sections with interior joining flanges, allows for the unit to easily be moved into the university even though there are move-in restrictions due to elevator and door passage sizes. This design eliminates the need for any facility modifications.
The control panel is UL508A certified and the unit is CE compliant for international use. Temperature is controlled by a Touch Screen Operation Interface with Ethernet connectivity, data logging, and recipe management capabilities as well as an Allen Bradley PLC. There is a panel-mounted thermal printer for event logging and remote access to the PLC in the event troubleshooting is needed.
