Gruenberg Ships Two Truck-In Ovens to Automotive Industry for Drying Application

Posted: Apr 14, 2025

Gruenberg®, a leading industrial oven and sterilizer manufacturer, is pleased to announce the shipment of two (2) Truck-In Ovens to the automotive industry. The ovens will dry water off billets and are designed for efficiency and performance.

The drying ovens feature maximum temperature ratings of 450°F, interior dimensions of 68” W x 48” D x 72” H, and the sufficient capability to dry 2,000 lbs of product per load. The interior chambers are constructed with non-continuous interconnecting struts between the inner and outer walls to minimize heat transfer and keep the exteriors as cool as possible. The ovens also include 3/16" thick plate floors with beveled front edges to ensure smooth transitions for loading trucks or pallet jacks.

The truck-in ovens utilize high-volume compound horizontal airflow systems to ensure uniform heating. This creates a consistent horizontal airflow across the product, with air recirculating back to the fan for reheating. Temperature control of the ovens is managed by a Watlow F4T controller which offers a user-friendly, programmable touch screen with Ethernet communication and data logging capabilities, ideal for demanding ramp-and-soak processing needs.

Both ovens are equipped with multiple safety features to ensure secure operation. Watlow high-limit controllers are installed to de-energize the heating systems if the process temperature exceeds the preset limit. Airflow switches are installed within the circulation and exhaust systems to deactivate the heater circuits in the event of airflow system failure, preventing potential hazards and maintaining safe operation conditions. Additionally, safety door switches on each oven deactivate the heating and circulation systems when the doors are opened, preventing the release of hot air during operation.

“These Gruenberg truck-in ovens are engineered for efficiency and performance. Our innovative construction minimizes heat transfer with features like non-continuous struts and high-performance insulation, while the compound horizontal airflow system is designed to effectively dry large loads. This design maximizes production rates, energy efficiency, and reliable performance for demanding applications.” – Jason Cillo, Gruenberg Sales Director
