Gruenberg Ships Vivarium Sterilizer to a Biotechnology Company
Gruenberg, a leading industrial oven and sterilizer manufacturer announced the shipment of a cabinet series Steri-Dry™ vivarium sterilizer to a biotechnology company for polysulfone cage sterilization.
This dry heat sterilizer is easy to install, requiring only electricity and fitting through a standard doorway. It has a maximum temperature rating of 356° F and interior chamber dimensions of 38” W x 36” D x 32” H. The unit features a viewing window in the door and utilizes vertical down airflow to ensure uniform heat distribution throughout the chamber and optimize efficiency. The interior stainless-steel liner is continuously welded to create an impervious barrier between the process chamber and the insulation material, preventing contamination.
The control panel is UL508A certified and includes a Watlow F4T temperature controller with Ethernet connectivity, data logging, and recipe management capabilities as well as an Allen Bradley Micro850 PLC. A TempGuard V control system provides over/under temperature protection with an alarm system. There is also a panel-mounted thermal printer for event logging.
A factory cage sterility verification was performed prior to shipment and after installation at the customer's facility. During the factory test, the sterilizer was fully cycled and tested, including a full load test with biological indicators that were removed and incubated for 72 hours at 90° F.
“Gruenberg sterilizers provide customers with easy installation. This cabinet-style sterilizer can fit through a standard doorway and has a minimal footprint so it is a perfect choice for facilities with move-in restrictions. Apply electricity and you’re ready to run. It also eliminates the need for any onsite facility modifications to install the sterilizer.” -Mike Schneck, Gruenberg Product Manager
